FIFA U-17 W/Cup: Flamingoes Seek Help Against Spain

Less than 24 hours before the Nigeria's Flamingoes take on Spain in the quarter final of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup holding in Costa Rica, the Nigerian team are seeking divine help for them to overcome the European side.

 * Yakubu seeks divine help against Spain tonight

Speaking early today, Flamingoes' winger Aminat Yakubu stated that she and her team-mates will be banking on God to defeat Spainian team who have scored more goals than the Nigerian team.

Nigeria wrapped up their impressive start in the group stage at the fourth U17 Women’s World Cup with an emphatic 3-0 win over Mexico last Monday morning to complete three wins out of three matches in La Sabana stadium, San Jose.

Bearing in mind that Nigeria is yet to progress past the quarter-final, Yakubu said: “We know God is behind us and going to do  greater things for us at this tournament. With God everything is going to be possible against Spain.”

The Bala Nikyu’s girls would trade tackle with Spain 3am Nigerian time on Thursday.
