Gunmen Invade Kwankwaso's Home, Attack His Father

Unknown Gunmen, Tuesday night, attacked the country home of Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State, leaving scores injured.

An eyewitness revealed that the incident occurred shortly after hundreds of Muslim worshipers rounded up their late evening prayers when  gunmen disrupted the serenity of the village with sporadic gunshots.

Governor Kwankwaso’s father, Musa Kwankwaso, who is also the District head of the village  was said to be in the mosque attached to his palace during the attack.

The account stated that Kwankwaso’s father  escaped unhurt, as one of his palace guards led him to safety during the shooting.

Security sources told Vanguard that “troops have been mobilized to the village, 28 kilometres south of Kano to contain the situation.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer, Kano command, Magaji Musa Majia said that “yes, there is a problem in Kwankwaso village but details are very sketchy now.”

He however assured to get across to our Correspondent as soon as details of the incident are made available to him.
