Soldiers Kill 13 Teenage Boko Haram Members

Thirteen Boko Haram members, who stormed Mubi market in Adamawa State, recently were not too smart in their game as soldiers of the Joint Task Force combatting terrorism in the zone beat them to their game and neutralized the insurgents.

The terrorist said to be in their teens, were at the Wednesday Mubi market, where they shot some of the traders and atteempted to make away with their goods. The hoodlums were also said to have attacked some bureau de change operators and robbed them of handsome amounts of foreign currencies

They were however, intercepted by soldiers who had been on their trail. The suspect ed terrorists who were armed with sophisticated weapons engaged the soldiers in a  shoot-out but suffered a huge loss as the soldiers proved more proficient in the use of guns, and as a result, lost thirteen of their members on the spot. Some soldiers who were injured during the shooting exchange are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Sources say the Boko Haram group desperately in search of money has been terrorizing some villages at the outskirt of Mubi, where they rob villagers of their monies, foodstuff and other valuables before killing them.

The raid by the terrorist group, was said to have forced military authorities in the state to deploy soldiers to the villages who succeeded in killing most of the attackers.

They were however said to have fled the villages when they could no longer stand the firing power of the soldiers

To effectively curtail the activities of the terrorists group, telephone lines which were restored in the state following the relative peace there, was said to have been cut off for about six weeks and was only restored sometime last week after the killing of the sect members.

The bodies of the terrorists were taken to the Federal Medical Center, Yola, while efforts were on to smoke out the remaining terrorists to make the state safe for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
