Sambo Storms Kaduna In Bid To Save PDP

Nigeria's Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo yesterday paid a visit to Kaduna to intervene in the crisis tearing the PDP apart in his state.

The Vice President arrived in the convoy of the Executive Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yaro, and some major PDP stakeholders alongside security chiefs in the state at about 5pm moved straight to the Presidential Lodge, General Hassan Usman Kastina House.

Newsmen who waited patiently to speak with the Vice President on the PDP crisis in state did not get to see him, and other party stalwarts would not speak to the press.

However, one of the State PDP women leaders, Hajiya Hauwa Kilda denied the allegations that Kaduna State PDP is in crisis.

According to her, the Vice President is in his home town to meet with his people and foster ways of moving the state forward.

Speaking on the recent defection by some PDP members in the state, Hajiya Kilda said “politics is all about interest and if Yaro Makama and others feel they no longer have interest in the PDP agenda, they are free to move.”

An inside source who preferred anonymity disclosed that the Vice President would be in the state for two or more days during which he would be meeting with party stakeholders in an attempt to mend the broken fences in the party.

It was also gathered that he may be meeting with some of the defectors with a view to wooing them back to the party.
