NUPENG still considers strike to protest FG's privatisation decisions.

NUPENG still considers strike to protest FG's privatisation decisions.

This message is contained in a statement from the NUPENG President, Igwe Achese, made in Lagos on January 1, 2014, Wednesday.

It said the union’s position was still that the decision to privatise the four refineries was hastily taken. Therefore, it would be resisted by NUPENG.

It also added that NUPENG members in NNPC and its subsidiaries had however embarked on daily prayer sessions, calling for God’s intervention.

It would be recalled that NUPENG and PENGASSAN in December 2013 had threatened to start an industrial action in January, in case the Federal Government failed to reverse its decision to privatise the country’s four refineries.
