Kaduna was again shaken by the spectre of violence on Thursday morning as a bomb scare at one of the tallest buildings in the state capital, Nagwamatse House, forced the evacuation of hundreds of staff of different organisations.
Nagwamatse House is a top business building in the northern city of Kaduna, playing host to such organisations as Brilla FM, which is on the ninth floor, and Africa Independent Television.
Occupants of the 10-storey building were left in a panic as security agents decided to evacuate the entire structure, thewillnigeria.com reports.
According to ‘Fola Ogunrusi, THEWILL’s source at the scene, the police and the Civil Defence Corps were alerted to the building, after a stranger who hurriedly parked a car in the compound was seen running away.
PUNCH checks revealed that security agents scanned the suspicious car for explosives and found none.
They then cleared the building and allowed people to return to their offices.
On Tuesday, three suspected Boko Haram members were blown to pieces on their way to drop some explosives at an undisclosed location in Kaduna.
Kaduna has been periodically shaken by violence orchestrated by Boko Haram.
