Orji Kalu Rallies Nigerians To Wage War Against Terrorism

Former Abia Governor, Chief Orji Kalu, on Wednesday called on all Nigerians to join hands with the Federal Government to wage war against insurgency in the country.

The former governor made this disclosure while speaking with newsmen at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, western Nigeria.

Kalu expressed concern about the unabated terrorists’ attacks carried out by the Islamist terror group, Boko Haram, in the Northern parts of the country.

He implored all Nigerians, home and abroad, to join hands with President Goodluck Jonathan as the nation collaborate with the international communities  to halt the insurgency and rescue the kidnapped schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State.

Kalu also advised the federal government not to be so firm not to negotiate with the Boko Haram if that will lead to the return of the abducted girls to their families.

The one time governor also faulted the Presidential system of government and demanded a return to the Parliamentary system which the nation adopted immediately after independence in 1960.

He concluded by saying that he believes genuinely that the parliamentary system is cheaper and cost effective, adding that it is the way to go for Nigeria's democracy to flourish.
