BULLETPROOF CARS: Oduah, Others Still Under Investigation – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said that all those involved in the controversial purchase of N255m bulletproof cars by the Nigerian Aviation Civil Authority, including the sacked Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, were still being investigated.

According to the source at the EFCC, the results of the investigation will determine who will be prosecuted.

“We are progressing in the investigation into the scandal and I can assure you that anyone who is found culpable will be prosecuted; just wait and see,” the source claimed.

It would be recalled that numerous people involved in the bullet proof cars scandal have been interrogated.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that the commission was still investigating the issue.

He denied statements that the agency had stopped investigation into the scandal which many believed was responsible for Oduah’s recent removal by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Reactions keeps tracking Ms. Oduah' removal with the officials calling this move by the President a "welcome development".

Still, some believe that sacking Stella Oduah is not an indication that Jonathan is ready to fight corruption and urge EFCC to take another step in this case and to prove that Nigerian "anti-corruption institutions are working".
