Woman Drugs Lover, Steals His Valuables

A 23-year-old woman, Florinda Asiaka, was on Tuesday arraigned by the Lagos Police for allegedly drugging her lover through his drink.

The accused who committed the crime around 10pm on on March 23, at 1, Oluseun Idowu Aleke St., Parafa, Ikorodu was said to have stolen items like wristwatches, a gold necklace and N142,000 from the lover, Mr Oluwaseun Idowu.

Apparently, Mr Oluwaseun Idowu slept for 10 hours after being drugged only to discover that the accused who was with him had disappeared with some of his valuables, the Prosecutor, Cpl. Mary Ajiteru told the court.

The accused, who was charged with stealing and malicious administration of poison with intent to harm, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Senior Magistrate, Mr W.B. Balogun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Balogun ordered that the sureties must reside in Ikorodu. He adjourned the case till June 19.
