Police Debunk IGP's Retirement Rumour

The Nigeria Police Force Headquarters has debunked receiving any official letter from the appropriate government authorities informing the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, of his retirement from the Force.

This was contained in a statement issued on May 15, Thursday, in Abuja, by the force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba. 

He insisted that the IGP is fully on seat and still serving his fatherland, adding that he will continue to perform his official duties as the 16th indigenous Inspector General of Police. 

The spokesman said the IGP thanked all Nigerians for their support and concern over the false news, and assured of his undying loyalty and commitment to the service of his father land.  

While thanking Nigerians for their overwhelming show of concern over the rumour, the IGP restates his loyalty and his unalloyed commitment to the service to his fatherland.
