Pandemonium On Lagos Island Over Bomb Scare (SEE PHOTOS)

Residents, motorists and workers on Lagos Island were thrown into pandemonium in the early morning of May 15, 2014, Thursday, over a bomb scare.

According to a report on PMNEWS website, the bomb scare occurred when three bags containing objects suspected to be bombs were discovered by traders on Tom Jones Street, near the ever busy Idumota market, Lagos Island, Lagos State, western Nigeria.

It was gathered through an eye-witness that when the traders saw the three bags, they immediately informed the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Ebute-Ero Division, SP Barrister John Otahumele who responded by taking the bags away.

The report stated that the prompt response of Policemen from Ebute-Ero Police Division ensured that commercial activities were not paralysed on the Island today because most of the traders thought the three bags contained bombs.

A Resident living around the area said they woke up this morning and found some items made up of 3 cylindrical objects placed close to the central mosque at a busy intersection.

As at the time of writing this report, police source said the objects have been taken to the bomb disposal unit in Ikeja for further analysis.
