Mourinho Not Happy With Torres's Performance After 3-1 Defeat To PSG
After the yesterday's 3-1 defeat of Chelsea to Paris Saint Germain in the first leg of the Champions League Jose Mourinho launched attacks on Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, alleging that they are not "real strikers".
Manager of the Blues brought on Torres midway through the second-half after an unproductive evening for Andre Schurrle.
But when Torres's performance did not yield the expected results, Mourinho lamented after the game:
"I’m not happy with my strikers’ performances so I had to try things. And with Andre at least I know we have one more player to have the ball, one more player to associate with the other players, even though he’s not a striker. But football is not just about that. It’s also about scoring goals, getting behind, and that is for strikers. Real strikers. And I had to try."
Chelsea manager also added that in such tight games defensive mistakes lead to big trouble for the team.
The rivals will meet again in the second leg to be held next Tuesday, April 8, at Stamford Bridge.
