President Goodluck Jonathan Pays Tributes To Olubadan of Ibadanland At His Centenary Birthday Celebration

On Tuesday, April 15, President Goodluck Jonathan paid a visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana, on the occasion of his centenary birthday celebration.

Visiting the monarch at his palace in Ibadan, the President described Oba Samuel Odulana, who was born on April 14, 1914, as a "man of impeccable character whose reign has witnessed peace and tranquility."

The President also congratulated Oba Odulana and wished him many more years of peaceful reign. "To reach 100 years in life is a blessing," he said.

Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Olajumoke Akinjide, thanked God for Oba Odulana as he reached the 100 years milestone.

It was reported that the presidential jet 5N-FGT with the President on board landed at the airport in Ibadan at 3.12 p.m. Earlier the jet with Senate President David Mark and his deputy, Emeka Ihedioha, on board landed at the same airport at 2.55 p.m.

Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Chief Jumoke Akinjide, the Minister of State for FCT as well as members of the Oyo State Executive Council have met the President at the Ibadan Airport.
