Abuja Explosion: No Mass Burial For Victims – FCT Minister.

There will be no mass burial for victims of the explosion at Nyanya bus park, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Bala Muhammed, said on Tuesday. Corpses of those perished would be released to their families after identification.

Muhammed said this while speaking to reporters shortly after visiting the wounded at Asokoro Hospital.

He condemned the attack, describing it as wicked and heartless.

The minister noted that the corpses would be released to relatives without delay after proper identification.

Muhammed also said that the FCT administration would pay the medical bills of all those injured.

He directed the FCT Secretary of Health, Ademola Onakomaiya, to refer serious cases to specialised hospitals.

Mohammed disclosed that the FCT administration is planing to enhance security in Abuja by, installing metal and explosive detectors in Abuja high capacity buses.

He also said his administration would meet with various security agencies to develop further measures to provide security in public places such as motor parks, markets, churches and mosques.

A bomb blast shook Nyanya bus park at the outskirts of Abuja at 6.30am on April 14 when hundreds of people where on their way to work.

At least 72 people died in the explosion and 141 were injured, Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu, has confirmed.
