Police Use Tear-Gas On Protesting Students, Lecturers, ASUP

Ongoing protest at the federal secretariat in Abuja was disrupted by police with tear-gas and water aimed at protesters – lecturers of Nigeria’s universities.

The police is using tear-gas and water to stop the protest that is right now going on at the building of Federal Secretariat in Abuja.

 

Lecturers and students of Nigeria’s polytechnics and other colleges gathered to show their discontent with the federal government in the way it’s handling the strike by the ASUP lecturers and COEASU lecturers. The representatives of both unions have been on strike since the last year, and hundreds of thousands of students have not been able to attend lectures since then.
