Ekiti And Osun Polls: Tinubu Warns PDP Against Rigging

Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Sunday said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national executive would be “roasted” if they manipulate the forthcoming gubernatorial polls in Ekiti and Osun States respectively.

The former governor gave the warning in Lagos at fund raising dinner organised by friends of John Kayode Fayemi (JKF), as Governors Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, and Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State would be contending with highly placed federal politicians in seeking re-election into their offices a few weeks.

"Those in Abuja have sent their agents down again for a repeat performance. They are not ashamed. Defend your votes, it is your right. No matter how much they complain, you will not see them do the campaign because they want to alter the Mathematics" Tinubu said.

"If they cannot do subtraction and addition successfully during the governors’ forum, they will not be able to do it during this election. I say it again, if you want to arrest me, come on, arrest me. If you rig this election, we’ll roast you".

Responding, Governor Fayemi and his Osun State counterpart, Aregbesola, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to jettison its decision not to use the Voter Card Reader (VCR) machines in the forthcoming elections.

The Governors claimed that the VCR offered one foolproof method to check election malpractices.
