Dire Accident Claims 14 Lives In Edo

Fourteen people lost their lives in a tragic auto accident around the Ewu slope along Benin-Okene Highway, in Esan Central LGA, Edo State.

An eyewitness of the tragedy told NAN that the truck had run over the bus as a result losing brake control, adding that all the passengers and the driver of the bus died instantly.

The corpses were moved to the Specialist Hospital of the state.

Nigeria Red Cross Society representative Mike Odiahi confirmed the incident and the number of the deceased, he also urged road safety officials to provide regular patrol around the troubled Ewu slope, where accidents frequently occur.
